About

Hello and welcome to my E-CV. I am a zoo Herpetologist and conservation Biologist dedicated to the preservation of endangered wildlife via field research and development of conservation breeding programs. I work throughout the neo-tropics, Caribbean, and western Asia on various field programs studying some of the most elusive species of viper on the planet. I am incredibly partial to Eurasian Vipers (Vipera and Montivipera), Bothriechis and Lachesis, Cryptobranchid salamanders, Cave adapted life, Atelopus stubfoot toads, as well as Chilabothrus Island Boas.

I am a Commission Member of the IUCN Viper Specialist Group, National Fellow of the The Explorers Club, Biodiversity Fellow of Washington University-Living Earth Collaborative, board member of the International Herpetological Symposium, member of the IUCN youth summit, member of the Cave Research Foundation, Field Operator for the Highlands & Islands Conservatory, and oversee various in situ field conservation programs around the world. By developing ex situ husbandry protocols for rare and endangered species I have helped in the captive reproduction and rearing of various animals for conservation assurance colonies as well as repatriation to the wild.

I am an avid field herper, outdoorsman, diver, caver, adventurer, and wildlife photographer.  I've led field expeditions and ecotours to incredibly remote areas but my favorite place is wherever my Great Pyrenees, Gritz, is sitting.
